Per cápita es una locución latina de uso actual que significa literalmente por cabezas (está formada por la preposición per y el acusativo plural de caput, capitis 'cabeza').

Generalmente, se utiliza para indicar la media por persona en una estadística determinada, generalmente de ingresos. Así, se utilizan los índices de la renta per cápita, los ingresos familiares per cápita, o el PIB per cápita.
