Prove It fue el septimo track de Marquee Moon, el disco de 1977 de la banda neoyorquina Television. Fue lanzado como sencillo con "Venus" como lado B y se convirtió en el sencillo mas exitoso de su carrera, llegando al puesto numero 25 del chart británico.

"Prove It" fue el segundo sencillo sacado de "Marquee Moon" siendo precedido por la canción que le da titulo al disco, y tal como esta, "Prove It" era una de las canciones que la banda venía tocando desde sus primeros shows en vivo, aunque es más lenta y simple que "Marquee Moon". La voz de Tom Verlaine también es diferente, especialmente en el estribillo, donde el título de la canción es mencionado de un modo abrupto, casi como si estuviera hablando en vez de cantando.

La letra de la canción refleja una historia de detectives, que, segun se dice, habría sido inspirada por la película The Long Goodbye, la cual fue estrenada pocos años antes que Marquee Moon.

Aunque no se han grabado covers de esta canción, el riff de "Prove It" fue utilizado por X, como base para su canción "Adult Books" de su álbum de 1981 Wild Gift.
