CDJ es un término para describir un reproductor de CD fabricado por Pioneer Electronics, que funciona de manera similar a un fonógrafo de vinilio para los propósitos de un DJ. Originalmente, el término se refería al CDJ-500 de Pioneer Electronics, pero ahora abarca la línea completa de tocadiscos-CD de Pioneer.

El CDJ-400, CDJ-800, CDJ-1000 (incluyendo el Mark 2 y el Mark 3) tiene modo vinilio y una bandeja virtual que permite al operador manipular manualmente la música en un CD como si fuera un tocadiscos, mientras que otros modelos (CDJ-100S, CDJ-200) no tienen las capacidades de un tocadiscos, y son esencialmente reproductores de CD. Si bien todavía tienen la opción de manipular el CD, no tienen los modos de vinilio de otros modelos.

El CDJ-1000 fue el principal modelo cuyo se volvió popular en clubes y entre usuarios domésticos, especialmente la segunda versión del modelo, el CDJ-1000MK2.

El último modelo es el CDJ-400, que incorpora la nueva característica de tener un USB de entrada y capacidades de control en el reproductor. Sin embargo, no es tan funcional como el CDJ-1000MK3, por lo que el número 400 es asignado a la máquina.

Además, Pioneer hace mezcladores como la serie DJM (incluido el DJM-500, DJM-600, DJM-800, y el DJM-1000) que tienen una creciente cantidad de instalaciones clave y efectos que se pueden aplicar a cualquier canal, a menudo en asociación con el cable de control conectado entre el mezclador y el CDJ-type de reproductor de CD, de manera que cada uno puede ser controlado a distancia por el otro.
