Carmel se halla sobre el litoral marítimo de California (rojo), aproximadamente en la mitad del largo total de la región costera de dicho Estado.

Carmel es una ciudad del estado de California. Su nombre oficial es "Carmel-by-the-Sea" en la península de Monterrey, donde se encuentra la ciudad de Monterrey. Se pronuncia con el acento en la última sílaba. Alberga una nutrida colonia de artistas famosos del cine y la televisión.[1] Es un sitio turístico por excelencia y cuenta con importantes hoteles, restaurantes, spas, shopping, galerías de arte y otros lugares de entretenimiento.
