Anne Stevenson (n. Cambridge en 1933) es una escritora y poeta británica, hija de estadounidenses y criada en los Estados Unidos.

Carrera

Stevenson nació en Cambridge, Inglaterra, pero fue criada en los Estados Unidos y se educó en Ann Arbor, Universidad de Michigan, donde su padre, Charles Stevenson, era profesor de filosofía. Luego de conseguir los grados de bachiller y mastría y graduarse con honores, regresó al Reino Unido donde vivió la mayor parte de su vida. Se casó 4 veces.

Es autora de alrededor de un docena de libros de poesía, algunos libros de ensayo y crítica literaria, de la controvertida biografía de la poeta estadounidense Sylvia Plath, Bitter Fame: A Life of Sylvia Plath (de 1989), y dos estudios críticos sobre Elizabeth Bishop.

Stevenson fue la primera ganadora del premio "Northern Rock Foundation Writer's Award", en el 2002. En el 2007, recibió el Lannan Lifetime Achievement Award.
