Eric Stewart Marshall[1] nacido el 29 de mayo de 1879 en Hampstead[1] y fallecido el 26 de febrero de 1963,[1] fue un cirujano, cartógrafo y explorador británico de la Antártida

Estudió en la Monckton Combe School y en el Emmanuel College Cambridge,[2] representando a su escuela en las competiciones de remo y de fútbol.[2] Inicialmente estudió para clérigo, pero entró el en St Bartholomew's Hospital para convertirse en cirujano en 1906.[2]

Soltero,[2] se fue a los 28 años[2] como cirujano y cartógrafo[1] en la expedición Nimrod (1907-1909) dirigida por Ernest Shackleton.

Formó parte del equipo de cuatro personas que alcanzaron el punto "más al sur",[3] a menos de 180 km del polo sur.
